Man, oh man! I've mentioned this once before, but let me say this again: IF YOU KNOW YOURSELF, ITS NOTHING THAT ANYONE ELSE CAN TELL YOU ABOUT YOU. I read a quite disturbing post over on beyondblackwhite.com (go check it out! it goes down over there!). A writer exclaims that the black women's natural ally has been the white man and he is basically the one who has upheld our status and freedom. Sweetie, if someone can give you something...they can take that shit away. This is a classic case of little to no knowledge of self. I'm not gone bash this misguided soul becuase she has a lot of learning to do (as we all do) but damn, as a black woman, give yourself some credit! Black women have been rebelling, and freeing ourselves since the time we were forced on the boat until Ab Lincoln (PUUHLEASE don't get me started on this nig*a) signed those papers...BECAUSE HE HAD TO! Ladies, please, see the power within you because truly the only person who can understand what its like to be not only FEMALE but BLACK are...*drum roll*...BLACK WOMEN. (hmmm..who wouldv'e thought we make pretty good allies to ourselves).
